Exhibition: Irish Guild of Embroiderers ‘Threads of Imagination’- dlr Lexlcon Library Gallery – Dublin

We are delighted to share news of an upcoming exhibition by our fellow guild within the Design & Craft Council Ireland: a show by the Irish Guild of Embroiderers. Their display, ‘Threads of Imagination: An Exhibition of Embroidery and Textile Art ‘, is the guild’s biennial show.

Feltmakers Ireland member Ramona Farrelly has a piece in it. The photograph shown here is an in-process image of Ramona’s piece, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her work before it takes its place in the exhibition.

When: Tuesday, the 1st of September through Saturday, the 3rd of October 2026

Open Call: Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 – Dún Laoghaire Rathdown

The Dún Laoghaire Rathdown (DLR) County Council is calling for proposals from children and young people, artists/creative practitioners, cultural organisations, and neighbourhood communities/organisations to participate in Creative Ireland’s Cruinniú na nÓg 2024.

Cruinniú na nÓg is the national day of free creativity for children and young people and will take place on Saturday, 15th June 2024 across Ireland. It aims to celebrate and encourage children and young people’s (aged 0 – 18) participation in culture and creativity by providing free, accessible, activity-based creative action in their own locality. The emphasis of Cruinniú na nÓg is on doing, making, and creating.

Applications can include any medium or a mix of creative activities and art forms (examples include but are not limited to performance, street art, fashion, photography, digital arts, literature, architecture, coding, biodiversity, folk life, heritage, archaeology, and landscape).

Deadline for submission: Monday, 8th April 2024, at 5 PM.

Felted Stained Glass Exhibition Programme @ Pearse Museum

Felt Stained Glass International Fibre Art Exhibition,

With community installation of pieces from all over the world by artists of all ages,

EMERGENCE at Walters in Dun Laoghaire

We invite you to celebrate EMERGENCE – ArtNetdlr Exhibition Launch this Thursday 14 April, with ArtNetdlr friends & artists, and all creative community of Dun Laoghaire – Rathdown, and a JAZZ Quintet. Emergence, a group exhibition curated by invited artists Jay Murphy and Louise Neiland, featuring the work of over seventy artists from dlr is now on view at Walters. You can also explore and buy artwork online.
