Sheep Chic

Sheep Chic

Feltmakers Ireland is participating in a series of events at the end of the August and early September 2012 and we are looking for our members to participate. We are entering an exhibition of felted fashion into three events and we are looking for your fabulous dresses/coats etc. We will have a display of mannequins at the three events – they are:

Heritage Week, Dublin, Phoenix Park Sunday 26th August 2012

We have participated in Heritage week for the past few years by opening our studio in the Phoenix Park to the public and hosting various activities. This year we will display our “Sheep Chic” felted fashion and give demonstrations….and – if the weather is good – have a picnic on the beautiful grounds around the studio. Everyone is welcome to come along on the day and please wear felt and join in the fun. http://www.heritageweek.ie/index.php/whats-on/event-search

The Rare Breeds Show in Gosford Park, Co Antrim, Saturday 1st  September 2012

Next “Sheep Chic” will travel to Co Antrim to participate in the annual Rare Breeds Show in Gosford Park. This is an amazing show for all sheep (and wool) lovers and is a really fun day out. We share a marquee with the Weavers and Spinners and the Feltmakers from Northern Ireland. We would be delighted if any of our members wanted to come along for the day and take part in the demonstrations.

Phizzfest – Arts Festival in Phibsborough Dublin,  2nd-9th September 2012

The final location on “Sheep Chic’s” tour will be part of the arts strand of Phizzfest where the work will be on exhibition for the duration of the festival.

We would love to display your work – and we know there are fabulous felt fashion items out there made by our members, we saw some of them on the catwalk at our fashion show in May. We have a very limited number of mannequins that will be travelling so if you are interested in submitting your work please contact sheila.ahern@ireland.com before the end of July when selection will be made and we can make arrangements for collection and return of pieces.
