Join us in the studio in Phoenix Park for our next Sunday Session on February 14th, when we will be exploring the beauty and fineness of cobweb felt. The session will be led by Elizabeth Bonnar, founder of Feltmakers Ireland. Everyone is welcome. The session runs from 10.30 until 1pm, and there is a charge of €5, including tea/coffee & biscuits.

Misha Markova is organising a series of eco-dyeing workshops in the Feltmakers Ireland studio in Phoenix Park. Join in an adventure of making wonderful cloth, paper samples or bigger pieces for a day or more. The aim of the sessions is to extract colours from natural materials using a variety of eco dyeing and printing techniques. Suitable for dyeing novices as well as for those who want to improve their skills. The cost is €60 a day, including basic materials. Spaces are limited to 4 people per workshop. Booking is on a first come, first serve basis.

If you’re joining us on Sunday for our Sunday Session on silk hankies, please be aware that there
are road closures throughout the park for the Pigsback Pink Run for The Marie Keating
Foundation. The best thing to do is to come directly to the Knockmaroon Gate beside the studio.
The gate will be shut but you can park outside the entrance. Or if you have a particularly charming
smile, the guards may let you come in to the car park. Always worth a try.

Join us next Sunday when we will be looking at techniques using ‘silk hankies’. After the recent visit by Nancy Ballesteros to Ireland we learnt lots of new ways of working with this versatile silk material.

The new season of Sunday Sessions kicks off next week, Sunday September 13th, (and every second Sunday of the month, in our studio in the Phoenix Park. It’s an opportunity to get together with others who share your love of felt, learn new techniques and have some fun. Next Sunday we will be looking at some of the ideas and skills we gained on a recent exchange in Hungary when a group from Feltmakers Ireland joined a group from Hungary and spend a week working with two fantastic felt artists Judit Pocs and Gabriella Kovacs.

Feltmakers Ireland are pleased to announce the opening of a solo exhibition of the work of our very talented member Clare Merry. The show runs for two weeks in the Visitors Centre in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. The exhibition presents a wide range of pieces from quirky needle felted Marilyn Monroe (below), through beautiful garments and felt wall pieces. Well worth going to see.
