Two and a half-day feltmaking workshop
We are delighted to announce details of our workshop with Annette Quentin Stoll from Germany. Anyone who is familiar with Annette’s work or who was lucky enough to attend the workshop she gave on her last visit to Ireland is sure to jump at the chance to work with this talented and creative felt artist.

Tea Pot Workshop with Pamela MacGregor

Pam McGregor Workshops
We are so pleased to announce that Pamela MacGregor will be joining us for 2 fantastic workshops in October. We are privileged to be using the Cow Shed Studio at Farmleigh for both of these workshops. Located in the beautiful Phoenix Park, Dublin. 
The first will be the Techniques Workshop that will explore innovative as well as traditional wet felting techniques. They will be neatly bound into a beautiful sample book. You will make many felt samples using traditional and non-traditional methods. Each felt sample will be as unique as it’s maker. This class will give you a solid base in felting techniques that can be applied to your future two or three dimensional felting projects.

This special Felted Teapot class will cover the basics for making and sculpting felt vessels with a focus on creating a beautiful, although, non functional tea pot. We will have time to discuss many of the possibilities and combinations for making any teapot including handles, feet and stoppers. The rating for this class is intermediate to advanced.

If you are interested in applying for a place on this workshop please print and complete the application form below and post it to Gabi McGrath with a cheque/postal order for full payment. We are able to offer this workshop at a really good price due to the support of the OPW’s assistance with the venue. Priority is given to fully paid up members of Feltmakers Ireland, you can renew/sign up for membership at the time of application and this will qualify you to be included should the workshop be oversubscribed.
All membership is due for renewal as of the 1st of January 2014. Membership costs €25 per year and you receive a full colour quarterly magazine by post, reduced fees for all our workshops and the opportunity to participate in our many exhibitions and events. So renew or apply for membership now and don’t miss out on upcoming opportunities. Our current magazine should have arrived in your postbox this week and has some fantastic articles and information for anyone interested in feltmaking.
Workshop with Gabriella Kovacs
We are delight to welcome Hungarian textile artist Gabriella Kovacs to Ireland to give a three day workshop in the beautiful setting of Farmleigh in Dublin on Feb 28, March 1st and 2nd. Cost for the three day workshop €120. During the workshop we will be felting a three dimensional object – participants can choose from a wide variety of items a tea cozy, a small bag or any type holders. We will work on design when everyone draws the shape of their own shape, which can be abstract or symbolic origin. Application forms with more details will be available here very very shortly…….
Workshop with Catherine O’Leary
Feltmakers Ireland are delighted to welcome Catherine O’Leary from Australia to give a three-day workshop in October. Check out her website at http://www.catherineoleary.com.au “This felt making workshop explores the different possibilities of felted garment designs. Creating intricate and original surface designs using nuno prefelts, each student will develop a pattern that suits her body shape. The main focus of this workshop will be on surface decoration and the manipulation of garment design”.
