Fabricademy, Textile and Technology Academy is a multidisciplinary, intensive training program at the intersection of Textiles, Digital Fabrication, and Biology, delivered in equipped laboratories worldwide, providing distributed education with hands-on technical learning.

This year’s 5-day Fabricademy Bootcamp is hosted by Creative Spark Dundalk, and is open to students, designers, teachers, professionals, and curious makers interested in sustainable practices.

Education: Shibori with Indigo Dyeing Workshop – Drogheda

Discover the Japanese art of Shibori with Indigo Dyeing, creating patterns on fabrics with Mel Bradley and Clodagh Mac Donagh.

Students will learn using techniques such as KUMO (tying and clamping), ARASHI (using poles and string to resist the dye), and ITAJIEME (folding and clamping). Immerse your prepared fabrics in the Indigo dye bath and be amazed as the magic of the dye turns from green to a vivid blue.

The workshop is suitable for beginners and intermediate students.

Of Interest: Arts and Creative Ireland Funding Information – Louth

The Arts Office of Louth County Council will hold three information sessions on the grant funding available in 2024.

Spaces in each session are limited, so please email your interest to arts@louthcoco.ie and let them know which session you would like to attend.

Exhibition: Caóilfíonn Murphy O’Hanlon in Group Show at Bridge Street Studios

Feltmakers Ireland Member Caóilfíonn Murphy O’Hanlon is part of a group exhibition, ‘Flourish’, at the Bridge Street Studios in Dundalk, Co Louth.

Caóilfíonn, who you may know as Cushla of Gullion via her business name, works out of studio space at Bridge Street Studios. The Studios are a thriving hub of art, design and craft, which houses eight artist workspaces, classroom space for hands-on workshops, and a gallery and shop open to the public each Saturday.

The exhibition runs through Saturday, the 23rd of September.
