Hello Folks,
You may have noticed over the last few months our website has undergone some updates. Firstly thank you for your patience as we make these changes. We hope that you will find some of the new ideas useful and we are always looking for more ideas and contributions from our community.
Please feel free to drop a line to hello@feltmakersireland.com.
For those of you who have already renewed your membership and those new members who have paid up and joined, a BIG THANK YOU. Your support and contributions help to grow and promote the craft of felt making and enable the voluntary committee to run events and plan for our crafting future.
We hope to see many of you at Sunday Sessions in the Park, at the upcoming basic and beyond workshop on Feb 23rd and at international tutor led workshops which are in the planning for later in the year- watch this space!
I know that I am currently trying to get a piece together for submission (for independent evaluation) for the Finnish “Touch of Red” exhibition. We really do hope that many of members will submit pieces to help promote our wonderful craft and the expertise of our community.
Please see two new web pages of interest; The Community Resource page, here we outline places to find supplies/ tools/ fibre. None are affiliated with felt makers Ireland; however we personally have found them a useful resource.
The 2nd page is our Learn page; here we will list upcoming workshops and plans for tuition. If you are a paid up member, we invite you to submit your details of events/ workshops you run. We need to outline a disclaimer as these workshops are not run by Felt makers Ireland, however we know that that the wider community and especially crafters new to felting will enjoy many of these workshops around the country. Please submit your details to hello@feltmakersireland.com for inclusion on the website.
One last thing, I am still looking for felt making Friday tips! Submit your ideas again to hello@feltmakersireland.com for inclusion on our Facebook page on a Friday, and thank you once again to all those who have already contributed; you are Felt makers Ireland.
Have a happy, productive & crafty 2019.
