Felt for Architecture Exhibition

Feltmakers Ireland will host an exhibition with Felt for Architecture, interior architects and felt artists, Claudio Varone and Anneke Copier at The Cowshed Theatre, Farmleigh from 14th to 17th September alongside the Masterclass.

Felt for Architecture is a collection of carpets and three-dimensional wall hangings in wool felt, designed to dress spaces, walls, floors, to evoke, to protect and to tell a story. Their colours and shapes originate mainly from the contemplation of landscapes. All pieces are unique, created in wool, sometimes combined with cotton, silk and other natural fibres, and are made using traditional techniques adapted to obtain abstract and minimalistic three-dimensional shapes. The intention is to introduce the art of felt within spaces, with all its tactile visual and acoustic features, and with the overwhelming power, magic and sacredness of life.

The exhibition of their work, alongside selected work of Feltmakers Ireland members, will open at 6.30pm on Thursday 14th September. Anneke and Claudio will give a talk about their work and a small reception will follow. Registration is essential to attend the talk and opening. To register contact awesomefelt@gmail.com
