A visit from Japanese felt artist Leiko Uchiyama

We are so lucky to have Japanese felt artist Leiko Uchiyama visiting Ireland in the next couple of weeks.  She has very kindly offered to spend Sunday 19th December with members of Feltmakers Ireland presenting her work and demonstrating her “pine needles technique” which she has been working on for the past couple of years- (which is lace effect with felt). People will also have the  opportunity to try it out for themselves. The event is taking place at the Merino College (Griffith Avenue, Dublin) from 10.30-15.30. It is open to members and places will be allocated on a first come basis. If you are interested in taking part please text Sheila on 0877738282 (don’t forget to include your name!). You will need to bring along some very fine merino wool fibre (10g) , a basic felt making kit (towel, water bottle, bubble wrap, etc) and a packed lunch.

It will be a great escape from the madness of Christmas shopping.
